Hi! I’m Jana – the 47, 48 49 year old, feisty, straightforward, “been fat, done with that”  author of this site!

I battled weight issues basically from birth through my early adulthood.

  • I lost weight / gained weight / lost weight / gained more weight and on and on and on…
  • I binged on food in secret for years
  • I tried diet after diet after diet…..but diets were deprivation…and I would give up on the diet and do a binge and then start all over again the next Monday.
  • I was an emotional eater to the max
  • I was so unhappy and unhealthy


After many ups & downs with weight loss, I found the easiest way to lose weight and keep it off WITHOUT deprivation was to SIMPLY Eat Better and Move More!

By eating better and moving more  I lost over 70 pounds and have kept it off for over 20 years.

I am a lady who loves to eat and I was NOT going to give up the pleasure of food.

I learned that it is possible to be slim and healthy and still enjoy food each and every day!

And I want YOU to experience healthy happy living too!

You CAN:

  • Be happy in your own skin. Comfortable in your body. Feel great in your clothes.

You CAN:

  • Get up every day and ENJOY moving your body. Doing fun activities that you love (NOT exercise you dread!)

You CAN:

  • Enjoy delicious healthy food with NO STARVATION or DEPRIVATION


  • Never have to do EXTREME workouts that might cause you to get injured.

You CAN:

  • have a BLAST discovering which activities YOU love to do and then do them! I happen to love walking – you might like dancing or jogging or rock climbing or biking, or who knows?? You decide! :)

Walking has been key to me losing the weight and keeping the weight off.

Walking is Fun! Walking is Simple! Walking Rocks!

I do other exercise but walking is a great foundation for staying slim and healthy – and the cool thing is that EVERYONE knows how to walk.

It is something that everyone can do the rest of their lives and they NEED to do it! :)

My mom died when I was very young due to obesity related health issues. And my dad is in his 80s and not in the best of health.

I have seen very clearly what “aging with poor health” is like and I don’t want that for me or for you….

So my philosophy is I want everyone to be able to

  • HEALTHY & HAPPY at a Comfortable Weight that is right for You
  • be able to KEEP MOVING (exercising, walking, play with kids/grandkids, enjoying all the physical activity you like to do)
  • and ENJOYING LIFE through the rest of your life on into your golden years!

Like I said, I lost a lot of weight (over 70 pounds!) and it has been my mission for the last 20+ years to discover the best ways:

  • how to eat better – eating HEALTHIER – which absolutely MUST include delicious food!
  • how to get fit – fit enough to lead an active, productive and fun life
  • and the best methods for maintaining weight loss – how to maintain weight loss so you don’t have to ever go through losing ALL that weight again!

There is so much information out there about how to lose weight and how to get fit –  it can be downright confusing and frustrating! Have you felt that way?

I learned a long time ago that if I wanted to keep the over 70 pounds OFF my body …. I would have to learn some new healthy habits.

Keeping the weight off  is easier with practice and with applying the weight loss tips that work for YOU.

This is key – PLEASE hear me!

You have to find what works for YOU and being healthy is a lifelong learning process.

Not every weight loss tip / fitness tip is gonna be your favorite. Not every one will fit your current situation.

However – if you want to get healthy and stay slim, I encourage you to read the tips you find on this site and try a few (or more than a few!) and grab a hold of the ones that help you stay on a healthy path.

  • share strategies that I know work for losing weight and keeping it off in a healthy way (because I’ve done it myself),

Bottom Line…

  • Do you want to be healthy and slim?

If you are looking for a “quickie weight loss diet”, I am not for you.

If you are looking for a “No Effort Lose 10 pounds overnight deal”, I can’t help you.
